Take one of the large bowls and place it over the stain. We love this option if the diarrhea was especially runny because baking soda is alkaline based and soaks up the liquid nicely. Generously cover the stain with baking soda. Using two cups of warm water combine a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid to a tablespoon of white vinegar.

Keep on doing this step until the carpet fully absorbs the liquid. Since diarrhea and fecal matter can damage delicate carpet fibers and leave behind an unpleasant odor thorough cleaning is necessary to prevent staining from occurring.
