Dark Spots On Carpet Coming From Underneath
After four weeks we are noticing dark spots coming from the bottom of our carpet.
Dark spots on carpet coming from underneath. Step 3 spray the low ph acid cleaner on the brown spots. Use a wet vacuum to suck up the water and cleaning solution left behind from the previous carpet cleaning. We have just moved into a newly constructed house. It looks as if the carpet is discoloured.
The other common cause of reappearing stains is something referred to as wicking. You do not want to over wet the affected area again. Wicking this is when the carpet stain has soaked through to the backing of the carpet. The stain vanishes at first but keeps coming back.
I have the berber carpet and the stains are the size of small finger nail. If it s not coming from your child the main culprit should be the carpet. We were spot cleaning our carpet in preparation to put our house on the market and when we tried to clean a very small dark spot from the rug it suddenly became a much larger reddish brown ring on our white carpet. Make sure the carpet cleaning machine you choose has enough vacuum power to allow the carpet to dry in 6 to 12 hours or you may risk damage from getting it too wet.
There is no discoloration on the top of the carpet fibers threads. Now i am seeing similar spots on the carpet on my first and second floor. As the weeks progressed we are noticing in all three carpeted rooms. The leftover residue becomes sticky over time.
Be aware that if your carpet is wet for more than 24 hours you risk mildew and bacteria growth. A dirty carpet causes horrible odor and it most likely grows black mold. The heavy traffic areas appear to be revealing the dark spots. Most of the stains are actually in the 2nd floor near bathroom entrances and in the walk in closet areas.
Wicking is the result of a stain reaching deep into the carpet and soaking into the carpet backing and sometimes even the pad underneath the carpet. Wicking occurs when the substance that was spilled on the carpet has soaked through into the backing of the carpet and sometimes even the underpad when you clean the stain you are cleaning the surface of the carpet. Extra solution left to hang out on carpet fibers will attract dirt and soil to the very spot you just cleaned causing it to become soiled once again. If the spots are dry skip this step and move on to step 3.
When the remaining carpet cleaner is left to stew in your carpet it will begin to attract dirt debris and soil in the same spot making it appear like the same stain is coming back time and time again. They just look like someone dropped some oil drops here and there. Black marks under a sofa or armchair or areas not normally in use or trodden on. Dark ring around table that is seldom used.
Black marks spontaneously appear on the carpet. Wicking is another cause of a reappearing stain. Footprints quickly appear on carpet although everyone takes off their shoes.
