Dark Brown Carpet Beetle

The adult varied carpet beetle anthrenus verbasci is about 1 10 inch long and black with an irregular pattern of white brown and dark yellow scales on its wing covers. The hair is organized in a way that it forms a combination of dark and light patches. These small dark colored beetles are an invasive pest in many homes.

Others might be mottled with spots of brown and black on a lighter background. The black carpet beetle attagenus unicolor which feeds on both fabric and stored products such as grains. Their larvae can chew through fabric damaging clothing furniture coverings and carpets. Brown yellow and orange.
